Purpose
The Career Development and Internship Center wants all students to be successful regardless of their financial circumstances. The closet provides students access to FREE professional attire appropriate for career fairs, interviews, networking events, classroom presentations, and the workplace. We strive to assist our greyhounds as they enter the professional world with the confidence they need to succeed.
Shopping the Career Closet
Location: Career Development and Internship Center, Alumni Hall 026
Drop-in Hours: Students can visit the Career Closet without an appointment on Tuesday and Wednesday between 1-3 PM. Please check in at the front desk for assistance.
Appointments: Students seeking an alternative time to visit the closet or requiring professional guidance in attire selection should schedule an appointment with a Career Advisor through Handshake.
How it Works: Currently enrolled students can access the Career Closet for free. Please check in at the front desk in Alumni Hall 026, where a staff member will assist you. Depending on availability, students may choose up to three items or one complete outfit once per academic year. Students may try on items in the nearby restrooms. Items must be checked out at the front desk so that staff can effectively monitor inventory.
Donate to the Career Closet
The Career Closet prepares Assumption University students to enter the professional world with the confidence needed to succeed. We rely solely on generous donations from the community to support this initiative. Our partners include alums, faculty, staff, parents, employer partners, and other members of the community, who are welcome to contribute as we continue to build the Career Closet.
How to Donate: Donating is easy. If you have five items or fewer, you can drop them off at the Career Development and Internship Center on the first floor of Alumni Hall 026, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For larger donations or donations outside of these hours, please email careerdevelopment@assumption.edu to schedule a drop-off appointment.
Our Donation Standards: Accepted donations must be new or gently worn business professional attire, in good condition, and clean before donation. Ideal donations include timeless pieces of all sizes, including suits, jackets, pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, ties, belts, and shoes. Items must be high quality (no rips, stains, or broken/missing pieces such as zippers, buttons, straps, etc.). We will also accept briefcases and professional tote bags in pristine condition.
