How It Works

Foundations Forward provides a structured yet flexible approach to career planning and development that integrates exploration and experiential learning, empowering students not only to successfully transition into professional roles or graduate study but also to cultivate lives of purpose, discover their true vocation, and find meaningful pathways that align with their values and aspirations.

The model consists of four phases:

  • Explore – Learn what interests you, what you value, and what academic paths may fit you.
  • Build – Gain skills, make connections, and prepare for internships.
  • Engage – Use what you’ve learned in real-world settings and discover more about your field.
  • Launch – Take your next step into a job or graduate school with confidence.

Build Skills Along the Way

Every Assumption student receives free access to LinkedIn Learning, with thousands of courses in areas such as technology, leadership, business skills, and artificial intelligence.

Students can earn professional credentials that strengthen their résumés and prepare them for a rapidly changing workplace.

Earn Professional Experience

Professional experience is a central part of Foundations Forward. Students are encouraged to pursue internships, research, leadership, and service opportunities throughout their time at Assumption.

Any student who desires an internship and is committed to pursuing one will have the opportunity to secure one.
