Shannon Curtis
Senior Director for Career Development and Strategic Initiatives
Shannon Curtis is the Senior Director for Career Development and Strategic Initiatives at Assumption University. She is a dedicated career advisor for all full time undergraduate day students, coordinates career development programming on campus, manages the CDIC’s employer relationships and acts as a resource for faculty members interested in integrating career development programming into their courses.
Prior to her role as Director, Shannon served as the Assistant Director of the CDIC where she developed career education programming and built relationships with student organizations, faculty and alumni. In this role, she also oversaw the CDIC’s annual Career Networking Night and launched the CDIC’s first Dress for Success Fashion Show. She also contributed to the College’s strategic plan by serving on several committees to improve academic programs and services.
Prior to joining Assumption University, Shannon worked at Boston University School of Management where she was a Senior Recruiter/Employer Relations Manager in the Feld Career Center working with companies to build successful on campus recruiting strategies and provided career advising for undergraduate and MBA students. Shannon has also worked in Human Resources at The Hanover Insurance Group where she coordinated internship and early in career and hiring. Shannon’s background also includes roles as a Professional Development Seminar Instructor and Enrollment Services Coordinator at Nichols College.
Shannon has an MBA and a B.S. in Business Administration from Nichols College.
Alicia Moquin
Associate Director, Career Development and Internship Center
Alicia Moquin is the Associate Director for the Career Development and Internship Center at Assumption University. In this role, she works closely with the Senior Director to provide strategic direction, leadership, and overall program management for the CDIC. Alicia oversees career development initiatives, including student workshops, presentations, employer events, and other departmental programs. She is key in guiding undergraduate and Accelerated MBA students as they navigate career choices, internships, job opportunities, post-graduate service, and graduate school options.
With a strong commitment to empowering students, Alicia brings over ten years of experience in higher education to her current position. She has held roles such as Resident Director and Lacrosse Coach at Dean College, Assistant Director for Residential Leadership Programs at Wheaton College, and Assistant Director of Enrollment Management Student Staff Development at Johnson & Wales University.
Alicia holds a Master’s degree in higher education focusing on Student Affairs from Merrimack College and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Anna Maria College. She has further enhanced her expertise with a Certified Career Service Provider credential from the National Career Development Association (NCDA).
Andrea Svagdys-Gumbrell
Career Development Coordinator
Andrea Svagdys-Gumbrell is the Career Development Coordinator in the Denecker Career Development and Internship Center at Assumption University. In her role, she supports the Senior Director for Career Development and Strategic Initiatives and the Associate Director of the Denecker CDIC. As the Career Development Coordinator, she also serves as a liaison between the Denecker CDIC and students, organizations, offices, and departments at Assumption University. She also supports office operations and strategic initiatives that enhance the overall student experience.
In addition, she also works closely with undergraduate and Accelerated MBA students, providing personalized guidance on their professional communication, internships, job searches, and graduate school planning. Andrea is passionate about creating a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel confident exploring their goals and taking the next steps in their career journey.
Prior to Assumption, Andrea spent over a decade in hospitality leadership, including serving as a Director of Revenue Management with Hilton Hotels, where she developed expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, and team leadership. She brings this real-world experience into her work with students, offering practical insights.
Andrea is a proud Assumption alumna. Now an official Double Hound holding a B.A. in Business Management, she recently earned her Master’s in Organizational Leadership. She is deeply committed to helping Greyhounds grow, succeed, and thrive.
Charles Driscoll
Marketing, Communications, and Event Management Graduate Assistant
Charles Driscoll is the Marketing, Communications, and Event Management Graduate Assistant for the Career Development and Internship Center. In this role, he develops and implements marketing strategies to promote the center’s services and increase student engagement. He also supports the Senior Director for Career Development and Strategic Initiatives, the Associate Director of the Career Development and Internship Center, and the Career Development Coordinator.
Charles graduated from Assumption University in 2025 with a B.A. in Finance and Economics and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration. Alongside his academic and professional work, he serves as captain of the Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Kiera Mills
Kiera is from Grafton, Massachusetts, and graduated from Worcester State University in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business Administration, plus a concentration in Marketing. She is attending Assumption University’s graduate school for a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology with concentrations in both Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies and Child & Family Interventions. Previously, Kiera interned in Human Resources, where she developed a love for reviewing resumes and crafting documents.
