Director, Career Development & Internship Center
Shannon Curtis is the Director of the Career Development & Internship Center at Assumption College. She is a dedicated career advisor for all full time undergraduate day students, coordinates career development programming on campus, manages the CDIC’s employer relationships and acts as a resource for faculty members interested in integrating career development programming into their courses.
Prior to her role as Director, Shannon served as the Assistant Director of the CDIC where she developed career education programming and built relationships with student organizations, faculty and alumni. In this role, she also oversaw the CDIC’s annual Career Networking Night and launched the CDIC’s first Dress for Success Fashion Show. She also contributed to the College’s strategic plan by serving on several committees to improve academic programs and services, including the launch of COMPASS.
Prior to joining Assumption College, Shannon worked at Boston University School of Management where she was a Senior Recruiter/Employer Relations Manager in the Feld Career Center working with companies to build successful on campus recruiting strategies and provided career advising for undergraduate and MBA students. Shannon has also worked in Human Resources at The Hanover Insurance Group and coordinated all internship and early in career and hiring. Shannon’s background also includes roles as a Professional Development Seminar Instructor and Enrollment Services Coordinator at Nichols College.
Shannon has an MBA and a B.S. in Business Administration from Nichols College.
Kelly Stairs M.A. '10
Kelly Stairs is the Career Advisor at Assumption College’s Career Development & Internship Center. In this role, she collaborates with campus faculty and organizations to create career development programming for undergraduate students. She also supports undergraduate students in their career and internship searches, as well as in building professional resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and navigating the graduate school application process.
Prior to working at Assumption, Kelly worked at Grafton Job Corps Academy where she created career development programming and supervised instructors in the implementation of the curriculum. She provided students with career counseling and career preparation instruction while developing relationships with staff and students to ensure student success.
Kelly has a B.S. in Psychology from Worcester State College and is an alumna of Assumption College where she earned her M.A. in School Counseling.
Beth Teague is a Graduate Assistant in the Career Development & Internship Center. She supports the CDIC’s marketing and student outreach efforts and puts her creative spin on the blogs on our website and social media. In addition, Beth also is a resource for students in crafting well-written resumes, cover letters and graduate school essays.
Beth has experience in proposal writing at MorphoTrust USA and Kronos Incorporated. She also served as a peer writing consultant, media assistant, and tour guide and was an intern in the Office of University Advancement at Westfield State University.
Beth is enrolled in the Master of Arts in School Counseling program at Assumption College and has a B.A. in English and Psychology from Westfield State University. As a member of Westfield State University’s Honors Program, Beth’s senior thesis was titled Gratitude Journaling and Expressive Writing Effects on Depression, Rumination, and Self-Worth Contingencies.
Edil Yassin is a member of the Assumption College Class of 2020. Edil is from Worcester, MA.
Kashmir Flood is a Sociology Major with minors in English and Psychology. She is a member of the Class of 2020. Kashmir is from Cromwell, CT.
Sarah Cordio is a Psychology and Sociology Major with a minor in Education and is a member of the Assumption College Class of 2020. Sarah is from Westerly, RI.
