Position: Women’s Fund of Rhode Island (WFRI) is seeking a marketing/communications intern to assist in building our visibility throughout the state. The position will report to our Special Projects Manager and support the full WFRI team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate collaborative ability, creativity, self-direction, and excellent written communication skills. Experience with social media, research, writing, data, and administrative duties preferred. An interest in gender equity and/or women’s studies is a must. We work in the office on Mondays, when we connect for a team meeting, so physical availability on that day (at least partially) is required. During the rest of the week, the intern may work remotely. Preference is given to interns willing to commit to two semesters with us.

Responsibilities
- Create and post content (text, graphics, and video) to all social media channels
- Draft content for biweekly e-newsletter, op-eds and other written work
- Act as a representative of WFRI at information fairs and public events
- Research social influencer program to better identify, leverage, and track micro influencers among feminist/progressive advocacy social media communities
- Other duties as assigned by the team to support the work of WFRI
Qualifications
- Self-directed and detail-oriented; can work independently with guidance from staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with social media channels (particularly Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram)
- Familiarity with social media organic growth strategies
- Graphic design experience a plus!
- Writing and design and/or video editing experience a plus!
- Access to a vehicle is preferred as you may need to bring supplies to events throughout the state
Start Date: Flexible after May, with a preference to start ASAP..
Hours: 10-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday; the schedule is flexible, Occasional evening work is required.
Compensation: For students who cannot obtain college credit or payment from their college/university, WFRI offers $15 per hour.
