Job Description:
The major focus of this laboratory is to understand the role of nucleic acid sensing receptors in the development and progression of systemic autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. This person will work very closely with postdocs and students in a laboratory at UMass Chan Medical Center and participate as a key player in multiple research projects. Responsibilities will include genotyping of gene targeted mouse lines, animal colony maintenance, isolation and cell culture of lymphocyte populations, DNA/RNA purification and quantification, enzymatic manipulation of DNA and RNA, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, enzyme-based immunoassays, viral vector targeting of stem cells and primary tissues, immunofluorescent microscopy, and data analysis.
Requirements:
- College graduate with a degree in Animal Science, Biology, Molecular Biology or related discipline
- Prior Laboratory Experience.
- Experience in the following techniques preferred: handling/injecting/genotyping mice; preparation of lymphoid, lung, liver or dermal/epidermal tissues for histology; isolation and cell culture of lymphocyte populations; maintenance of long term cell lines; multicolor flow cytometry; DNA/RNA purification and quantification, enzyme-based immunoassays, and immunofluorescent/confocal microscopy
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
