Our program is growing, and we are seeking full-time OB/Gyn Hospitalists to join 4 other OB/Gyn hospitalists and a team of certified nurse midwife hospitalists. The OB/Gyn Hospitalist of South Shore Hospital collaboratively provides patient-centric, comprehensive, and compassionate emergency obstetrical and gynecologic care, leveraging the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities available within our health system. Our experienced, board-eligible or board-certified OB Hospitalists team is made up of highly motivated OB/GYN hospitalists who perform deliveries and gynecologic procedures, cover the OB and main emergency department, provide backup services for midwives, and round on antepartum and postpartum inpatients. They are key quality and safety leaders for our hospital.

South Shore Hospital has over 3200 births a year. The labor and delivery unit offers 13 warm and comfortable labor and delivery rooms and there are 3 operating rooms on the unit for surgical procedures for obstetrical patients. The environment is welcoming and the rooms are equipped with the latest technological innovations. The hospital offers a Level III NICU and special care for premature babies. The team of specialists includes maternal-fetal medicine physicians, and neonatologists who also work at Boston Children’s Hospital. There is dedicated obstetrical anesthesia staff available around the clock.
7 twenty four shifts per month or the equivalent and the shifts are distributed among days and nights. Also requires 2 weekend shifts per month and holidays are shared equally among covering physicians.
