This position is for an external manufacturing intern whose primary responsibility will be to review process change implementation at contract vendors or contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs). The intern will also assist with a process improvement evaluation of a process being implemented commercially and review different scales of manufacturing processes from lab to commercial scale production. The position will provide an aspiring scientist with a broad view of pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Gain a general understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and vendor supply oversight
- Visit local manufacturing sites to view ongoing production runs
- Observe process and analytical development in action via supporting lab chemistry process development studies
- Perform manufacturing trending for process performance monitoring
- Evaluate process improvement with flow diagrams
- Present data and conclusions to the group
Desired Education and Skills:
- Working toward a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
- Complete General Chemistry coursework, Organic Chemistry and Mass Transfer coursework preferred.
- Computer skills including at minimum; spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word), and presentations (PowerPoint)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail are necessary
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
Program Timeline:
- This application is for a 10 or 12-week summer internship program that will either start on May 28th or June 10th.
- The program will conclude on August 16th, 2024.
This is a hybrid position where in-office presence is required two-three days a week.
This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.
The targeted salary range for this position is $21 – $25 per hour depending upon years of education completed and nature of role.
