IT SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Location: Boston
Posting 2024-32: 3 month Summer 2024 Internship (12 weeks) CSA200 — $22.00 / hr.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Programming intern working with Development and Innovation teams to help develop application interfaces, APIs to AI based Large Language Model sites. Some SQL and report writing development may also be included. Intern will be mentored by Development and Innovation teams managers. Some code creation, and design will be needed with access and understanding to code libraries like GitHub. Position reporting will be determined based on need at the time of hire. We are looking to engage the intern in May, but it is possible to start sooner with a part-time assignment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Receive supervision from the Manager of IT Development and Manager Innovation.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
No direct supervision exercised. Will work collaboratively with development and cloud administration teams and be mentored by more senior developers and managers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intern will contribute to OSA IT development teams responsible for creating a broad spectrum of applications including AI enabled browser applications, survey response analytics, financial reporting and visualizations, and various administration technology projects.
Position is located in Boston at One Ashburton Place Suite 1819, and the intern is expected to be on site at list three (3) days per week with the team. Remaining days may be filled remotely requiring the intern to have an internet connection. OSA will provide a laptop.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess and/or demonstrate:
- At least 3 years of college enrollment in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience in writing software code with either C++, C#, Python and related libraries
- Experience writing browser based applications
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products like, Outlook Email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience debugging software code
- Ability to work on a team, share knowledge and collaborate
- Ability to articulate goals and communicate issues effectively to non-technical people
- Ability to join staff on premises in Boston at least 3 times a week
- Ability to work within a project plan managed by others
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some experience in working with relational databases like SQL
- Some experience in working with application programming interfaces (API).
- Some experience with GitHub or other software repository
- Some experience with either Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS or Google Cloud systems
- Exposure to cyber security concepts
