IT SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Location: Boston
Posting: 3 month Summer 2024 Internship (12 weeks) CSA200 — $22.00 / hr.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
We are seeking a highly motivated and tech-savvy intern to join our team at the Massachusetts State Auditor’s Office. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in combining IT skills with financial analysis to contribute to meaningful projects that impact our community.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Receive supervision from the Manager of IT Development
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
No direct supervision exercised. Will work collaboratively with development and cloud administration teams and be mentored by more senior developers and managers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the development and implementation of IT projects.
Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data.
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in the testing and deployment of new software solutions.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot minor IT issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with programming languages (e.g., Python, R-Studio).
Basic understanding of financial principles and data analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be authorized to work in the USA
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Some exposure to working with relational databases like SQL or Access
Some experience with GitHub or other software repository
Some experience with either Microsoft Azure, or other Cloud systems
Exposure to cyber security concepts to maintain OSA provided laptop and network resources
