Job Summary
During this internship, you will become an active member of the Information Technology (IT) Cloud and Infrastructure Team. This team is responsible for managing all aspects of Nassau’s Cloud infrastructure (Delivery and Operations), built predominantly on AWS technologies and integration to Azure AD and End use compute services. S3 and Redshift, with complimentary tools such as Lamda, Glue, Direct Connect, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, CloudFormation, and others.
You will assist Nassau Technology and its business partners in operating Infrastructure provisioning through automation (Ops Automation) for security and cost control needs. Scaling infrastructure operations to meet the SLA and OLA needs of business with aggressive growth targets – is prime focus for this year and you would be part of this journey enabling it. Ops Automation include effective governance of the components, mapping of these with Business units, Service catalog implementation all using AWS compatible and supported scripting/automation solutions.
Along the way you’ll get to meet and work the IT leaders who are responsible for all aspects of insurance and investment management technology.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with AWS Services to ensure the maintainability and reliability of Infrastructure components
- Participating in the development process for the design implementation as per High availability and Disaster recovery related specifications needed for Application
- Collaborating with cross functional teams to develop proactive maintenance strategies that enhance application and infrastructure reliability
- Performing data analysis to predict and curb failures before they occur
- Planning performance evaluation tests to determine potential production and security risks and implementing controls in scripted mode.
- Working with the team to develop infrastructure as code.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or any other Information management disciplines.
- Comfortable with any scripting technologies tools like Python etc.,
- Possess proficient and professional verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with all levels of Nassau management as well external partners / suppliers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, working as a member of a team or independently
- Self-starter that is not afraid to ask questions
- Highly organized and detail-oriented and drive projects to completion
- Ability to manage multiple assignments/responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Possess critical thinking / problem solving skills
- Ability to use various applications/software (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Peoplesoft)
