JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Finance and Accounting Coordinator, Part Time
Salary: $23-25/hour depending on experience
Schedule: 24 hours/week (3 days), 10am – 6pm
Location: 100 West 2nd Street Boston, MA 02127
Reporting to AFH Director of Finance, Michael Washington, the Finance Coordinator will work with the Finance and Accounting team to coordinate payables and receivables, as well as, other administrative duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create invoices for various internal departments and enter the invoices into Bill.com, daily.
- Enter pledges and receivables daily into Quickbooks
- Enter payments made via wire, EFT, checks, and cash from various revenue sources.
- Maintain check log and notification process
- Code and enter organizational bills into the accounting system
- Update and maintain vendor files and receipts to ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
- Follow up with bill.com approvers to ensure timely approval and payment of bills.
- Maintain departmental support tracker and calendar to ensure timely internal and external requests are met.
- Assist with payroll processing function, as needed.
- Assist with monthly closing, as needed
- Other duties as assigned and required within the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MUST be a Boston Resident, between the ages of 19-24
- Must be a US Citizen, US National, or Permanent Resident
- Minimum of 2 years of high volume data entry experience
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
- Familiarity with Quickbooks online, Bill.com, online banking platforms, highly preferred
- Experience with Google and Microsoft software applications required.
- Work approach is proactive and solution oriented.
- Highly developed Excel skills are preferred.
- Experience with ADP is preferred but is not required.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required.
- Exceptional deductive reasoning skills and abilities are required.
- The ability to multi-task and manage various stakeholders, with ease and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize assignments with limited supervision
- Ability to work independently and across various departments with confidence to meet deadlines
- Appreciation of the role of art, design, and entrepreneurship in youth development; deep belief in Artists For Humanity’s mission
