General Statement of Duties:
Works under the supervision of the School Principal to provide instruction to students.
The health services course provides an overview of health delivery systems, organizational theory, and the conceptual basis of traditional managerial and executive leadership roles in health care facilities. Students will gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and will be prepared for a career and post-secondary opportunities. Special emphasis will be placed on the development of leadership competencies and skills through the selection of a broad range of specialty topics
• Exploration of Health Careers with clinical training at hospitals and health care facilities.
• C.N.A Certification program
• Home Health Aide Preparation
• CPR & AED Certification.
• EKG Training
• Med. Office Training
Duties will include: Plan and deliver effective instruction to students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods that provide students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve the learning of all students.
Positively engage various stakeholders in the school and community.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students.
Use data to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Perform other related duties as required (school and district leadership)
Position requires appropriate Connecticut Certification/103 Health Occupations–Comprehensive High School
Experience and ability to work with a diverse, multilingual and multicultural population
excellent communication skills
Salary and Benefits: According to WTA Contract
