Based in Portland, Spurwink has over 900 employees at offices throughout the state. We work in cooperation with various state and local systems in response to referrals and provide services to privately supported individuals. We have been identified by The National Institute of Mental Health as one of the few exemplary programs in the country. Spurwink Services holds accreditation from the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. Interns interested in joining the Spurwink team have an opportunity to gain experience in one of many Spurwink programs in a variety of professional fields.
Student interns will support the work of their assigned programs in a variety of capacities as assigned. Specific duties will vary by program and will be determined during the hiring process. Scheduling can be flexible, and internships will last for approximately 12 weeks unless other arrangements are agreed upon. If interns are completing degree or university requirements, the internship tasks, duration, and schedule will also be determined by the university or degree program.
Candidates must exhibit enthusiasm for the work and an interest in learning about both the field and Spurwink’s services. Must currently be enrolled in a degree program. Program placement will be determined based on individual students and backgrounds.
