Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing, Productions, and Fan Engagement the GA for Athletics Marketing will assist the Lander Athletics Marketing staff in development, coordination, and implementation of marketing and promotional efforts. Duties include:
Execute a comprehensive marketing plan to nurture, solicit, close, and steward athletic corporate sponsors with an emphasis on increasing revenue, raising attendance, and enhancing in-game promotions to maximize the fan experience. (75%)
Coordinate all activities with game operations staff on fulfillment of corporate sponsorship requirements, to include, but not limited to venue signage, in-game promotions, giveaways, print and digital collateral, and other in-venue sponsorship activation items as necessary. (15%)
Assist Marketing Director to leverage existing campus and community resources to broaden awareness of athletic events by establishing, developing, and maintaining engagement with on-campus departments and community partners to encourage participation, grow the Bearcat brand and drive the overall strategic growth of the University. (10%)
