Justice 4 Housing Senior Policy Advisor Position Description

The Senior Policy Advisor position focuses specifically on supporting J4H’s policy and legislative priorities on the local and level. Responsibilities include:
- Provide policy input and strategic political insights to An Act to Provide Housing to Returning Citizens SD818 and H1278. Bill Sponsors Senator Gomez and Rep Sam Montano
- Meet with legislators for Co-sponsorship
- Organize Phone Banking, Stakeholder Testimony
- Create Legislation Fact Sheets, Petitions, Organization Signon sheets, Legislator signon
- Meet with legislators, tenants and stakeholders to gain support for changing public housing authority (PHA) policies
- Work with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley to support “The Fair Credit Reporting Act” Legislation
- Facilitate and serve as the “point person” for connections between J4H and other advocacy groups in Massachusetts.
- Help formulate Justice 4 Housing’s long term funding and outreach strategy plan.
- Legislation research and drafting to determine J4H legislative priorities for the 2024-2025 legislative session
- Work with City Counselor
- Set up meetings with Attorney General
- set up meetings with Governor Healey
- Advise Executive Director on Policy agenda
- Create graphics for social media
- work with Director of Communications to create legislative marketing materials
- Work with Director of communications to organize Legislative Events with Bill sponsors
- Work on No Longer 3/5 Coalition to Restore the Voting Rights for Incarcerated Persons
- Create outreach marketing and social media slogans for No longer 3/5 Coalition
- Attend weekly No Longer 3/5 Coaliton Meeting Every Wednesday at 7:30pm
