Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Research is seeking graduate intern candidates with proven interest and experience in implementing innovative hardware solutions and applications using a variety of analytical tools and data analysis towards innovations for hybrid cloud research. You will work in close collaboration with other researchers and engineers to create, maintain and support world-class applications and/or infrastructure. Knowledge of engineering disciplines, computer science, physics and/or materials science are all preferred skills for this role. Interns are expected to have the ability to analyze complex problems and apply creative solutions to challenging hardware engineering projects.
Areas of research include, but are not limited to: semiconductor engineering, digital and/or analog circuit design, AI hardware technology, memory technology, test and characterization, and semiconductor packaging. In addition, demonstration of effective communication is essential to this role.
Candidates should have knowledge in one or more of the following skills:
Data analysis software (Python, R, Jump)
Programming skills (C/C++)
Knowledge of electrical test, manual probing, simple electrical engineering tests are important
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, process tools or physical characterization instrumentation
Machine learning techniques and machine learning toolkits
Candidates must be willing to work in Albany, NY; San Jose, CA; Yorktown Heights, NY.
Pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, or related field is required.
