Clinician-MA Independent Clinical License Required
Job purpose
The Clinician is responsible for the assessment and treatment of clients who come to CrossPoint Clinical Services seeking mental health treatment.
Duties and responsibilities
Client Services Responsibilities
Assess client needs and establish goals for treatment and be accountable for the quality and quantity of casework.
- Assess client needs based on information from interviews with clients and/or parent; records of previous treatment; and information provided by relevant collaterals, including medical providers.
- In collaboration with the client and/or parent, establish goals for treatment that are measurable and achievable and likely to improve the patient’s quality of life.
- To interact with clients in order to assess needs, provide information, discuss problems, set limits and encourage growth and development.
- Provide mental health treatment to clients.
- Provide treatment for clients according to plan agreed to mutually by client and clinician.
- Provide services in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, professional ethical standards, and employer guidelines.
- With client’s permission, communicate with other professionals, including medical providers, as needed to coordinate care.
- To develop strong supportive relationships with clients.
- To provide for client care and safety
- To monitor client’s progress.
- To review client records for completeness and to follow through on referrals.
- To apply biblical principals in accordance with the treatment plan.
- To participate in individual conferences with the supervisor regarding case work, diagnosis treatment, and other direct or supportive services.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Administrative Responsibilities/Record Keeping
- To adhere to CrossPoint Clinical Services policies and procedures.
- Must maintain a minimum productivity of 7 client per week.
- To attend scheduled staff meetings, clinical meetings and trainings.
- To maintain client records in accordance with standard format and timetables.
- Provide all documentation required for timely billing services.
- Keep all client information confidential according to federal standards set by the Health Insurance Potability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- To attend supervisory meetings.
- To be responsible for case notes pertaining to clients.
- To meet established productivity standards.
- To maintain job related record keeping accurately and submit reports in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Working knowledge of the Christian Bible.
- Understand the tenets of Christianity.
- Demonstrate the active pursuit of a Christ centered lifestyle.
- Knowledge of clients’ behavioral dynamics.
- Knowledge related to the treatment of client population.
- Knowledge of state regulations and licensing procedures regarding service provision.
- Knowledge of training needs and procedures.
- Ability to structure and organize job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Displays sound judgement.
- Works as a team member. teamwork skills and effective interaction and communication with individuals throughout the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- MSW, MA or M.Ed in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy or related field required.
- Must be licensed for one of the following: LMHC, LICSW or LMFT.
- License in good standing to practice psychotherapy in Massachusetts without supervision by another licensed professional.
- Experience in providing mental health treatment to individuals and families. Group experience preferred.
- Must have a working knowledge of the Chrisitan bible and have the ability to apply these principles.
- Must be able to pass a Background Record Check (BRC)
Physical requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting, listening, and observing or working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
- May be exposed to clients with infectious disease.
