Who Are We?
Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. At Brooke, we coach and invest in our teachers so that they can help our students shatter the achievement gap and graduate from college. Our students thrive because they are challenged and known.
What is the Role?
As a School Adjustment Counselor or School Social Worker at Brooke, you provide direct support to individual and small groups of students in the areas of social skills, self-regulation, self-advocacy, etc and create and implement positive behavioral plans. You also collaborate with colleagues to ensure students receive the support they need and provide crisis intervention for students which may include risk assessments, safety contracts, and social service interventions.. Additionally, you meet with parents to discuss student progress and help refer parents to outside resources as needed, and you write and implement IEP goals and conduct functional behavioral assessments and classroom behavioral observations.
Is This You?
- You hold a valid MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor license, LICSW, LCSW, LSW, or LMHC.
- You have extensive knowledge of child development and age-appropriate social and emotional skills.
- You believe that great teaching closes the achievement gap and have an unwavering belief in all students’ capabilities.
- You are professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
- You are able to start on July 24th, 2023.
