ENG 304 – Business and Technical Writing

This course will teach students the art of writing on-the-job for tasks such as memos, reports, letters, and proposals. Students will learn how to be concise and effective in their writing, while also adhering to style and format for each specific task. In addition, students will learn the importance of knowing one’s audience and how to write each task accordingly.

This is a valuable skill that can benefit employees in a number of career fields, including but not limited to: Consulting; Data collection & analysis; Banking; Insurance underwriting; Office/business management; Law; Government; Financial planning/reporting/budgeting; Auditing; Real Estate; Property management; Freelance writing; Journalism, Public relations; Advertising; or Non-profit work.
