Why You Should Attend the Graduate School Fair

The holidays are quickly approaching, and with that comes the promise your family asking, “So what are your plans for after college?”

No matter where you are in your education, it is never a bad time to think about what you’d like to do in the future. If you haven’t yet, this may be a good time to start considering graduate school.

On Tuesday, November 13th the CDIC is hosting a Graduate School Fair from 4:00pm-6:00pm in the Laska Lobby. This event is open to and beneficial for any Assumption student.

At the Graduate School Fair, you will meet with recruiters from a wide variety of schools and can learn about the range of programs they offer. Graduate school is an excellent option for students looking to go into specialized fields or whose desired fields require a higher level of education. If you’re one of these students, now is the time to find out what schools offer the education you want.

While it is beneficial that your liberal arts degree allows you so many career options, narrowing your career path can be daunting for some students. If you’re unsure of what you want to do in the long term, attending the Graduate School Fair can open your eyes up to the specialties related to your major and within your desired field. Perhaps you’re in a major geared directly toward a certain career. This would be an excellent way for you to learn what other options you have beyond the obvious choices.

One of the best ways to decide whether or not to pursue graduate school is to know what your options are. Stop by the Graduate School Fair on 11/16 to learn more. Who knows? Maybe you’ll leave knowing exactly how to answer your family this holiday season when they ask what you’re going to do after college.
